Been scouring the internet trying to find a custom fitting rubber mat that is thicker then the traditional 1/4" mat everyone seems to have available.

Found a company in the Dakotas whose web site is truktoys.com
They advertise a custom (5th gen) bed mat that is 5/8" thick for $87.50
and that includes freight and this thing has to be heavy.

If you are looking for heavier mat like this one PM me and I'll let you know how it looks and fits. (Suppose to arrive this Friday the 21st.)

I have considered buying a mat, but haven't done anything about it yet. $87.50 with free shipping for a heavy duty mat seems like a deal. Please be sure to update this thread when you receive yours, and let us know if you're satisfied with this product.

I see that OPGI has mats for '64 thru '77 A body trucks. I plan on one for my '75. The mat in my Chevy pickup sure protected the bed floor since '92....

I got an uber thick one that came with my car. I can't believe $87 including shipping. Mine must weigh 20 lbs+ plus it's big and awkward as hell.

Gee, if it's all that heavy, he will have to add some air to the rear shocks....

The mat did come in and it is good quality and the fit is pretty good. It follows the contours of the bed with about a 3/8" gap.

It is about 7/16" think where the ridges are. The ridges on the top run parallel to the length of the bed, are about 1 1/2" wide and on about 4" centers.

I posted the info on the mat in another post... I think it was called Bed Mat part 2
That post lists where I purchased the mat and also the address of the manufacturer.

Here is the info from the other post....
Well the bed mat came in this morning and I am happy to report it's a keeper.

It's not 5/8" thick as suggested but it is 3/8" thick and almost 1/2" thick when measured at the ridges. The ridges are about 1 1/2" wide and 3 3/4" center to center spacing. It must weigh 30-40 pounds.

The material is black molded rubber and is of good quality.
The fitment is not bad. Perhaps within 3/8" of the bed walls and the contour is precise.

Here's the good part.
The mat was $87.50 and that included freight !!!
(However they did charge me Iowa tax of $6.13 even though it came out of North Dakota.)

I purchased it from:
TrukToys
1271 Fayland Drive North
Fargo, ND 58102
Their # 800-218-0609

It is made by:
Rugged Liner Truck Accessories
951 Aiken Road
Owosso, Michigan 48867

On a scale of 1 - 10 I'd rate it an 8 1/2.
If the mat fit real snug to the walls of the Elky I'd easily give it a 10!
