I was wanting to redo my interior Black on Tan, Here's a quote that I feel is fair for the South East USA.

Cut and fit dash - 250
Cut and sewn to fit carpet - 250
Seat 2 tone - 325
Sun visor/head liner - 80
Total ~ $905

Is this worth it? He might also be able to do the top door panels for about 100.

I'd say it's definately worth it if he does quality work. Have him show you previous customers rides and talk to them to see if they're satisfied. If he does quality work, he'll be more than happy to show it off and to let you contact past customers...if he doesn't want you too talk to previous customers, or says it's not possible...then walk.

I was referred from 2 friends. One has a 70 Chevelle that he did - Very Nice
I was also referred from a friend that runs a local parts place and has a small car collection of everything from a 32 chrysyler to a 02 corvette limo. He always gets the best.
He is also the lowest quote I've had by about 200 $$$.

Zac,
Sounds like a fair price for the work if it is quality. Where is this shop located? If it's close to me I may have to check it out.

I might be interested in his work too Zac. Gainesville isnt far from me of course in Jacksonville, and neither is Alachua, or High Springs if he is in those areas.

Does his price include the material or do you buy that, and if its his, does he have some real good stuff to choose from?

Oh by the way.....Monday is the 7th....today is the 6th...you're late!! :P

Oops a flub on the date.
His price does include the materials and he is in Lake City; About an hour from Jax if i remember correctly.
He's done many cars that I've seen so If his quote holds and I feel comfrontable with what he's doing I should have Pics for everyone soon (friday).

Its a good price if everything (quality, delivery, etc.) checks out. As a comparison, I gave $600 for seat (with arm rest and head rest), headliner and sunvisors recovering.

Be very careful when you pick out the material and try to see the actual material to be used if possible.

I redid the headliner in my '78 for $20! Looks just like factory, and it's not that hard to do. The $225 dash price sounds fair, especially since a new one runs in the mis $800 range!

Looks like a good deal except for the carpet. By a kit from OPG or the like and save a couple of bills. They are easy to install and look great. I just rehabed my interior on my '76 and paid $290 for the seat & sunvisors & $80 for the headliner (I installed it). I simply put a dash cap on my dash ($50) and bought & installed a carpet kit from OPG.

Good luck!
