I have a THM 200c. It's getting all shifty on me, it will go from first to third.
so I was thinking of fixing or swapping out trannies. What do you think?

I had a THM200C in my 86 with a 305 engine. Five years ago, this month, I replaced it with a THM350C. Went right in with the same bell housing, cross member and drive shaft. Nothing had to be altered.
Only one problem: The pointer in the shift indicator on the steering column never does point right at "D" when the tranny is in drive. Instead, it points almost at the "N". It is no problem unless a stranger drives the vehicle and unknowingly pulls it down in a lower gear tryng to get the pointer to point directly at the "D". That would not be good for the tranny. I took it back to get it adjusted and then the thing didn't want to go into park smoothly. Finally, I just learned to live with it. Performance wise, I am well pleased. It appears to be much stronger/tougher than a 200.

There is a screw holding the pointer string on the steering colum. Its adjustable. I don't think that adjusting the actual shift linkage is do-able but that screw can be loosened and slid around to make the needle point dead on the gear indicator. Its generally on the right side of the steering colum on the coller for the shifter.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the tip, Elky Pete. I'll take a look and see if I can rid myself of another small nuisance.

there should just be a small clip at the end of the cable attatching it a lip on the steering column. if you take off the panel under the sttering wheel you can see it. just slide until you get it right.
