Back when I first got mine I made a run. It was before any work was done(before intake, carb, trans rebuild, 3.73's, traction aids, ect) and my time was well over the 16 sec mark. Pretty pethetic  Hopefully I'll get to the track this summer to see what the upgrades have done for me 8)

I got seroius about racing my 64 about 7 years ago. One thing led to another and it's been off the road for a serious rebuild for almost 4 years now. I always had a problem of some sort, first it was traction, so I went to slicks. Then they were so tall I had to go to 4.56 gears. That wasn't enough for my motor, I wanted to be up around 7000 at the lights, but I was only going through at 5500. The slicks also cause the clutch to start slipping real bad, and when I finally pulled it down, it was missing 1/2 the facing on one side and 1/4 of the facing on the other side. The best I ever pulled off was a 13.30. I fully expect that when i get it back together and dialed in they'll be telling me it's time for a cage. Be more than willing to give my experience to help others.

I have a 80 camino with a crate 350. It runs a 14.5 in a thousand foot. I know that is slow. I plan on getting some 373 gears to make it faster. I am more worried about looks than speed right now.

That is one reason I decided on going back in the 76 with a 383. More torque better response off the line. But much like everyone else I have a rear end problem. With 2.73:1 and a 2100 RPM stall speed I don't even get into my power range until I hit 50 ~ 55 Mph.

I can't imagine me doing better than Mid to high 15s at best probably more like mid 16s.

Just bought my 77 350 4 barrel dual stock exhaust going to put an intake on and take it to the track next weekend, will let you know what it started out with, bought this car for street division at the local track, got tired of driving the family car in street, probally high 16,s to begin with but plan a lot of work on it, bought a 82 monte last year and the first run was 14.9 but after a year we are running 11.3,s...
