: Tailfins and Chrome
skinyfisher 11-05-2011, 06:11 PM El Chromeo was videoed by TAILFINS and CHROME last Saturdays at Hernando County Fairgrounds, Brooksville. A charity show by "Monster Transmission Annual Car and Bike Show", TV schedule is to be before the 1st of the year air time, if they keep their word as Monster buys the air time it can't be bumped only delayed? Was there before and ended up on the cutting room floor OPPS.
Good show even with some early weather somewhere around 250 to 300 cars I think I did see a window reg number of 266 so sounds possible, last year perfect weather over 500 cars.
There were two NECOA members there Bills Airbrush received Best Graphics, Skinyfisher received Best Engine. two members 2 awards out of the top 20 classes. Look out the El Camino's are in town.
randycamino52 11-05-2011, 07:17 PM Good job:nanawrench::You_Rock:

CANTED 11-06-2011, 04:43 AM I hope it get's on tv this time, Jay.
Lenny Carey 11-06-2011, 07:04 AM A big Congratulations to Jay and Bill ! Like others I can`t wait to see the show . I get the Dish Satellite Network and will have to find the dates . I have not seen the show yet but have heard others talk well about it . Who else has seen it ? Anyone that has not seen Jay; aka Skinyfisher`s 69 , should check out his ride in the Gallery and Region 6 , Fl. forums . I think this is the first year it has not been in one of the NECOA calendars . It was pictured in one of the issues of Hot Rod magazine . Bill has been joining in our NECOA events and you can see his beautiful ride gracing the cover of NECOA`s 2012 Fifth Generation Calendar . To see more of Bill`s work , check out www.airbrushing.biz . When you see Jay`s engine , I recommend you be wearing sunglasses . You guys did us proud . :You_Rock:
rtatwk 11-06-2011, 04:23 PM Lenny...'El Chromeo' is featured as the June photo of the NECOA 2012 3rd gen calendar. Maybe you didn't recognise a more frontal view with the hood down :poke:. Jay I will be watching for the program. I'm sure my Son will be able to tell me the air times for that show.
Lenny Carey 11-07-2011, 07:11 AM Randy , Thanks for the heads up on my mistake . I bought 3 calendars but realize now that you say this , I do not have one for the 3 rd Generation Caminos and assumed it had gotten cut for some reason . From your other post I realize now that Gary Jormants beautiful 84 is featured in the 5 th Generation Calendar photos . Thanks for saying something . I`m sure that different providers will have different date and air times but would appreciate a notice when anyone finds it out .
EdontheBeach 11-19-2011, 04:31 PM jay - where do you see tail fins and chrome now? it's not on sunday morning channel 8 anymore, i can't find it
skinyfisher 11-20-2011, 08:44 PM This is a double answer ED but just to make sure on my end I will give info. During the filming Jake (Tailfins & Chrome) was asked by the four cars being filmed when it would air and when is the program showing, he told us that the Tampa time slot was now Sunday channel 8 at 4:30 am, and the show should air before the end of the year.
skinyfisher 11-21-2011, 07:18 AM Received email from Tailfins and Chrome this AM the show will air in Jan or Feb of 2012, so much for this year. Each week on there web site the next show to air goes up with a Trailer Preview or the hole thing not sure which. So here we set waiting again for the check!!!
skinyfisher 03-05-2012, 03:16 PM The Tailfins and Chrome Monster Transmission Brooksville Florida show was on 2/26/12 at 4AM on channel 8 in our area I missed it, can't figure out why but I think I was asleep and did not know it was going to be aired, would not have gotten up to see it either

EdontheBeach 03-05-2012, 06:13 PM that vid is coolio !! you're now a tv star!
Lenny Carey 03-05-2012, 07:43 PM Congratulations there Skiny ! Is there a copy floating around somewhere ? Would love to see it .
skinyfisher 03-06-2012, 09:19 AM No copy, but there are stores that sell computers that work are open :poke: Your problem could be the 3 twist cotton thread cable you are still using, also check and see if the guy the turns the crank on the power generator is taking breaks and your not getting a full 12 VOLTS DC.
keep up the battle you will win soon.
randycamino52 03-06-2012, 09:56 AM good job, :nanawrench:
Chris Nelson 03-06-2012, 10:04 AM Nice video Jay,you came thru lookin' good.I guess we should call ourselves the 3 percenters, being that only 3% of all El Caminos ever built are still on the road today !
skinyfisher 03-08-2012, 07:23 PM Let me clarify the 3% statement it is approx. 3% of all 1964 to 1972 El Camino's, GEN 5's were not in that search done by Chevelle & EL Camino Stuff site and ID you Caminos Site or Identify an EL Camino SS, this search was done through all Department of Motor Vehicles in all states and the info was just simply how many in the years searched were still registered no other info was given out, the Chevelle's registered was 10+% but there was also a lot more Chevelle's made in those years,
Not to sure I like calling ourselves the 3% er's, sounds a little off the bubble, Ok to us as a matter of info, lets leave it there OK.
