i have a 1982 el camino with a 231 v-6 engine. how do i find out if it is "odd" or "even" fire motor??
i'm getting ready to rebuild it (has 189,000 miles).

not withstanding the previous post, buy a Chilton or a Haynes manual.
either/or will provide almost all the information that you will need throughout owning ANY vehichle.

eighty five,
thanks for the reply........however i already have a "haynes" manual which clearly does not specify.thats why i was asking others who might be able to clarify things for me. i've been a mechanic for 20 years, however this is my first v-6 el camino project.
p.s. you mis-spelled "vehicle".
thanks.

Haynes and Chilton manuals suck. Find a factory shop manual.
Go to Barnes and Noble and get a book called V-6 Performance by Pat Ganahl. 1/2 this book is the Buick V6, copyright 1982. Great Book.
See my website also. :)
