Been a long time since I've posted, but i've been working on my elky's interior and just finished.. next step is the body.. I need to redo the paint because some [insert favorate swear word here] keyed me and another got me with a door dingy on the other side.. I was thinking though.. i'd like a cowl hood but i'm not willing to pay that much for them.. (give me a break I'm 15 and lifeguarding doesnt pay that well) .. Has anyone ever took a big tub of bondo and some sheet metal and made their own? It'd be a bit harder than that but I know how to work the welder and with enough bondo and sanding I think i could pull it off..
Can someone supply me with some dimensions.. like where their cowl starts and where it ends.. and how high it is?..
Comments welcome

You could buy the bolt on cowl hood scoop that came on the Choo Choo Customs from Honest Charleys (ECC links page) if your just going for looks, it'll give you a stock appearing, made for the Choo Choo El Camino hood. Fiberglass Unlimited...your Elky will be able to attain warp drive...or at least the hood scoop probably will (get it?). I don't think I've ever heard anyone say anything good about them.

Tub of Bondo, sheet metal and weld ?Better start lifting weights your going to need to be in shape to raise this monster ! Also you'll need a strong prop as well.lol
The Choo Choo scoop like Mike suggested if you like them would be the quick and easy way to go.I think they look great on a stock Elky hood,My friend did his and worked out fine.Look in the gallery at some of the members Elkys and see for your self.
