please someone help, need to get my 67 el camino UK registered have found vin plate on door post but they will need to look at one stamped on frame( reading some of the other posts i get the impression these are hidden in secret locations )

No VIN on the frame thats a plate,, they stamp the frame but you have to remove the body to see it,, it is stamped only on the top side of the frame,, I have never seen any frame that has a plate of a VIN # on it,, where about`s are you in the UK? Near Mildehall RAF by chance? Matty man in Ohio

im not sure on a 67
i'd start looking on top of the driver side rear frame rail,,as said its hard to find and see..:texas:

Only VIN I'm aware of on my '66 is also on a tag in the drivers side door jamb, and then the other info is on the plate on the firewall. 66 & 67 very similar. Good luck with the constabulary :yell:

Like said above it is either stamped on top of the drivers side frame rail about a foot from the rear or I have seen some that were actually on the side of the rail at the same location. GTO's and Lemans have it on the side. They are faint and you will have to clean the area to bare metal to see it.

hi guys thanks so much for the quick response and the imfo , im in sutton surrey 20mins from wimbledon ..i can t understand why they make it so difficult to read the frame vin ,by the way will be visting my son who lives in LA from dec 27 to march 22nd...i ve just bought a 59 el camino from one of his friends and am really looking foreward to driving it when iget there
i will try and check on top of the drivers side frame rail this does however sound difficult
