well i found the vin number on the frame , thanks to the guys that posted on my last message ( 67 el camino frame vin on top of drivers side rail a foot from the rear ...used mirror and torch)
Any way what i need to know is.. the numbers i found are the last 8 of the numbers found on the vin plate on the door piller...why does nt it have all the numbers please help

That was probably all the info that was needed on the frame at the factory. Digit's six threw thirteen are: 6-model year, 7-assembly plant code, 8-13 -unit number (all plants began with 100001)

i dont know why,,
but that would be normal to just have the "serial number" part of the vin on the frame..:texas:
