A graphic or picture in a computer is made of small square "dots" of color (called pixels) kind of like making a picture on a graph paper by filling in certain squares. The number of pixels wide and tall determine the resolution of the picture.

EC Central requires that a graphic for an avatar be no larger than 100 pixels wide by 50 tall. (Resolution of 100x50).

This means if your graphic is bigger than that then you will need to use some sort of image editing program to either crop the edges off the picture to make it smaller or resize the picture to make it smaller.

You probably have one form or another of software in your computer that will do this. If not, you can e-mail me the picture and I will make it the appropriate size for you.

Understanding graphics, file types, resolutions, color depth, resizing, cropping, can be really confusing if you haven't had experience with it. I am willing to help anyone who needs it.

I used EZThumbs to resize mine, it's a free download on the web if you are interested. It'll also do batches of pics in a folder to set up thumbnails for web pages.
