: Remember when?
hotcamino 12-07-2011, 07:04 AM It's 1955, I'm 16, at work, dirty job helpng mechanics fix road building equipment.
My first car, 1938 Ford V8 60 Coupe, the whitewall tires are Rembrandts, so are the running boards. I could burn rubber in all 3 gears!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know you are not suppose to fall in LOVE with your car, but, I LOVED this one! Now I'm in LOVE with my 70 El Camino....(My wife understands)

HKDUP87 12-18-2011, 08:36 AM Any more stories?:nanawrench:
ohiohoss 12-18-2011, 09:28 AM my firt car was an 84 old cutlass i bought it for $1000 it came with a stock 305 and 700r4 trans it was burg with burg color interior i ended up putting a 350 and 350turbo trans and i drove the car like it was stolen for 8 years
First car was a 68 Chevelle that I picked up for $400.00 in 1977. It had a 327 and a 4 speed trans. Was a lot of fun to drive.
Bryan59EC 12-18-2011, 04:01 PM My first car (that I actually drove)
1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT------440-6
This is what that car looked like ---- same color too
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj289/Bryan59EC/std_70sport-furygt1.jpg
I just recently found out that there were only 76 of these cars built with the 440-6
After the drunk driver killed it I replaced it with a car like this----only blue
This car spoiled me, had every option that Chrysler offered.
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj289/Bryan59EC/73Plymouth.jpg
I then bought a toy, a car that I was fascinated with when the original owner brought it home brand new (i was friends with his son), I was not yet 8yrs old. I bought it from Art in 1977, and it became my primary summer car until I moved to AZ and it became my daily year round car.
67 Chrysler 300, 440TNT, NP A833 4 spd, Posi, disc brakes, HEAVY duty springs (7leafs on the rear, 1-1/4 torsion bars) no radio, heater or undercoating.
Looked like this
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj289/Bryan59EC/big67hardtop4.jpg
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj289/Bryan59EC/1967-1968-chrysler-300-2d-hardtop-and-convertible-1.jpg
To this very day----that car was my favorite, but alas, it was stolen in 1989 for the 300 specific parts. in 10 years of looking for parts to rebuild the recovered shell, I found a grille. Since the theft, I have only seen about 5 '67 300 2drs----all in junkyards.
Jim Earl 12-18-2011, 05:15 PM My first car was a 50 Mercury flat head V8, I got it in 1958!, Jim
