Super Chevy was the last event I attended with Miami Nice old whitey, I'm thinking about trailering the Caballero to this one as it will not be titled for a while, this will give my nephew Cristian(14) a chance to show off his new ride and start looking for parts needed.

Had a good time last year at PBIR,except for the heat & noise, don't know if I'll go this year,at least they moved it up so it might be cooler, but they need to put mufflers on those drag racers, let's see where did I put my ear plugs.

I remember when I used to put a speaker by each ear and turn on the Doors at full blast, now our age group is complaining about drag racing being loud!
Chris I'll take some ear plugs for you, I don't hear that well anymore, I think Ligth my Fire took care of that, Tony.

We went up to Daytona Thursday, where NASCAR was doin' testin'.Boy that really cleaned the ears out.We were standin' 10 feet from where the cars were goin' over 200 mph, near turn 4. They were runnin' single cars,& pairs & double pairs.Sounds good not like drag racin',don't get me wrong,I love drag racin',but with 2 cars takin' off every 20 seconds for hours & hours, was just a wee bit too much.My wife & I are big Nascar fans. Our favorite drivers are Tony Stewart,Ryan Newman,Earnhart Jr.Last year Tony did good after following him for many years.Still not decided bout PBIR,we'll see.

I have received an email from Super Chevy to confirm our Club attendance and car count for the Palm Beach Show.

So for all that are going and or a maybe please respond so we get enough room for our CLUB cars, last year the space was not enough when all the El Camino's at the show tried to get in the area set for our model.

Sean my intent will be to stay at Hotcamino's little Motel again this year on Singer Island. CJ and Tootie stayed there last year too as well as Edonthebeach and we also had a little quickly planned cookout on Saturday evening after the long day at the track. Not all were up for preplanning that part but there was quite a group in attendance when it was put together quickly by the 'Mayor and First lady'. There was also a group meet for dinner at a local restaurant that was awesome on Friday evening.

It is a small mom and pop motel on the beach that is owned and operated by one of the best Mom and Pop couples you will ever meet! try www.oceansurfmotel.com (http://www.oceansurfmotel.com) Or look for the link on Hotcamino's profile if I got it wrong...Aka Glenn...aka The Mayor...etc. Lenny and Skinyfisher will be staying nearby and 464Elky also lives nearby...FLKymino is a bit further south and will commute. Some will drive in from a bit further for Saturday only. Glad to have you as a part of this meet this year!

Ok I will want to get some things together and can take them along since I will go down Friday. Hope C.J and Tootie get in on this part. C.J. and Glenn at the grill on Saturday evening were as great as the day at the track and show last year! We can give the hosts a break and do it this time. I was thinking to add sausage sandwiches this time...Easy enough to saute the peppers and onions in the room since they all have kitchens. We'll figure it out.

I used to live 10 minutes from Moroso/PBIR. As long as you get a hotel in the Palm Beach Gardens area, which will have the closest hotels to PBIR anyway, they should all be nice. Ill be there Sunday.

Only 2 things left to dial in...A dinner out for the Friday arrivals perhaps? And getting the Saturday evening BBQ squared away. I will be a Friday arrival and want to get some things together before hand. Mignon (and family) did an awesome job putting the cookout together on short notice last year! The task is on us this time...Of course Glenn can still cut the cheeze...lol

Randy , a Saturday cookout at the Mayor` and Mignon`s motel sounds good to me and I will help chip in for food , etc. Friday at Duffy`s also sounds good . The place Jay was talking about is the Park Avenue Resturant I believe on A1A . Duffy`s sounds better for the group as I was there at Park Avenue recently and it has been very busy . About time you come and meet up with us!
It's been a long time coming and we've missed a lot of great Florida shows, but we're mobile now. We were supposed to go to the Turkey Run at Daytona last November...we had a trailer deal lined up and all, but the seller sold it to someone else from underneath us the day we were supposed to pick it up. Everything happens for a reason, and we ended up getting a much better trailer at a great price. http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o547/IROCelky/IROC/DSC_0555.jpg

You'll be able to see two of them. My buddy who owns one of the IROC replicas will also be bringing his to the show. He owns one of the 1986's that was sent back to Choo Choo by a dealer to be converted into an IROC, so it's not one of the 15 numbered IROCs, but it has the paint scheme and the roll bar. It's a small world...as rare as the IROCs are, at one time four of them were owned in South Florida at the same time (#001, #12, and two of the un-numbered ones that were sent back to Choo Choo by dealers to be converted).

Here's his 383 super-charged IROC that will be at Super Chevy.

Ouch! The shade tent is a must there and we need 2 of them. If nobody else has them, I'll see if I can arrange something.

Here is the sort of plan for the cookout:

Enough burgers w or wo cheeze (24?)...a dozen grilled sausage sandwiches. I'll saute the peppers and onions for them there...I plan to make baked beans and some potato salad and probably macaroni salad. Much better than store bought and can be made ahead of time because they are better next day...and 2 days...I'll make all of that Thursday. Sean is bringing those BBQ chips and I'll get regulars and some dip...Whatever other snack things...Sodas and water to go with beer and wine...I'm gonna bring a couple of bottles a what seems to be a good Pinot Grigio...CJ may have his box of the other stuff handy. I have the condiment and utensil stuff on my list etc. Pretty much all thats left to figure out is dessert type things. Maybe that is something that should be aquired on the way from the track, along with ice that will be needed for sure.

Further thoughts, requests, or suggestions welcomed! I have a full day tomorrow wrenching on the cruck...Shopping and cooking and cruck cleaning on Thursday to come down Friday.

There is a March show at Daytona International Speedway every March.I don't know the exact dates this year. But has almost as many cars as the November Turkey Rod Run.It probably coincides with the Super Chevy Show at Palm Beach International Raceway which most of our members will be attending.I have attended both the Nov.& Mar. shows in the past.Usually around 5000-6000 cars.I've walked those shows all day long & never seen even a quarter of the cars.I also attended PBIR last year.It was very good & met a lot of the region 6 members.
