does anybody know what the difference is in the horsepower of these two intakes are on a 383 motor??

you can get the performer rpm air gap. you can probably e-mail edlebrock and ask them.

i would believe the gain is minimal when going from the performer vs the air gap. another thing you need to watch out for is hood clearance with the air gap

also if i remember right the air gap is has the best power gains between 1500 and 6500 vs the performer from idle to 5500.

The Edelbrock Performer RPM and Air Gap RPM offer similar performance characteristics but I think the Air Gap RPM has a slight advantage. Check with Edelbrcok customer service for the definitive answer.

I have the Performer RPM AirGap on the .040 over 350 in my 84. You won't have a problem with hood clearance. Mine was under a stock hood with a 650 double pumper and a 3" K&N with a drop base. As far as performance goes, I love it. It seemed like a good idea to me to keep the hot engine oil away from the incoming fuel and air mixture. I"ve never run the regular RPM intake, so I can't compare, but I can tell you that the AirGap is good for at least the look it gives. A lot of people thought I was running some sort of high rise intake.
