John Harris 12-30-2011, 09:59 AM Boat anchors are nice for serious fishermen.
Keyser Sose 12-30-2011, 10:19 AM Yep, even if you put it all together, it'd still be a boat anchor!

centex396 12-30-2011, 05:51 PM Gilby, as the proud owner of a 1969 396 (325hp) I would say keep it and build it and never look back.
Welcome to the Dark Side.
Be advised... Big Blocks and cheap don't belong in the same sentence but once you fire it up and drop the hammer you will have a smile on your face even the IRS can't take.
Nothing makes a better conversation piece than a Big Block in the garage (cause we can't afford the gas)
Even the smallest RAT needs a Home.:poke:
CANTED 12-30-2011, 06:15 PM Don't listen to the small block guys, they are just wannabees but won't admit it. From the pic the heads look like rectangle ports. If you have the funds, centex is right nothing will be cheap, build this bad boy. A Tonowanda block to boot.(stamped number starts with a T) You could put the cool Tonowanda stickers on the valve covers and not be a poser.
Those heads used on the 70' LS6 450 HP. Definitely valuable.

theelcaminoman 12-31-2011, 09:10 AM I found a place called Northern Auto Parts that has a full rotating kit with crank for $750 I believe. Ill look it up and get ya the address
