Gilby, your signature picture always caught my attention.Even though it,s a dull subdued color tone compared to your latest creations ,it has a look of it's own.Was wonderin when you were going to make your own avatar, But I understand how it can be easier to do things for other people sometimes than your own stuff.
I agree it takes talent just to see a photo opportunity. All of the training in the world don,t mean*^~# if you don,t have the talent to back it up. I also understand what it,s like to be the kind of person { long haired person at that } that thinks differently than others. It,s not the kind of thing that necessisarily makes you more friends in high school or adult life, Gets a few extra jokes made at you etc, But when your skilled accomplishments are being viewed, opinions turn in your favor from most people, whether they want to admit it or not.
Also historically, it gets you recognition years after your gone, where others fade away.

Joe,

It sounds like you are a struggling artist yourself. I can totally relate. I bought my 59 El Camino in 1986. When I started working on it, it had see-through floors, a cracked windshield, a fried transmittion, and it was oxidized salmon in color. Everyone else was restoring 57 Chevys, Model As, or T-buckets. It has been 25 plus years of ever changing view points but, it has finally become a popular truck to own. Now people stop with wonder in their eyes when they see my 59 in the parking lot or at a show.

You are right. Having the ability to see things that others just don't can be ackward at times. Thinking outside the box is still more fun than conforming, in my humble opinion.

Cheers.

Hey I like it! Will you replace the one with the pop-up camper now?

The Rat Fink driving an Elky could be a new T-shirt design....Do you remember those RF's in various hot rods with a shifter as tall as a tree?

 Salute

..you know, its hard to think up your own stuff, its kinda like writers block..
I want to say Thank You for all the nice comments,,In a way,we're all struggling artist. Just look at your El Camino, Its a piece of "Art" and "History" behind each El Camino out there, some are different than others, some stand out,and some is lurking in the dark night, just waiting to blow your doors off and you'll never knew what the heck that was. Anyway,Thanks for all the comments. YOU GUYS:You_Rock::beer::beer:
