As most of you know, I am an over the road trucker. For whatever reason, my job has taken me away from my family and my hobbies more than i ever intended this job to do. When I do get home, my family time takes away from my hobbies and especially my duties as regional director. Ive had a power steering hose leak for over a year. Any way, I appologize for not taking the lead as i did in the past, but have become evermore frustrated at getting member participation. Its tough when you get one guy that comes to your meet. The Carolinas is a very large spread out region, and @ 8mpg, i can't reach out very far. Basically I am saying, if there is a member with more time than me, i would not stand in the way of their becoming director, in the interest of the region. :dontknow: Thank You Hans

Hans, you've been with us almost from the very first day and have been a big part of everything here. Sometimes, life gets in the way of having fun, and we all have to make a living and spent quality time with the family. We've instituted a new practice of appointing Deputy Directors in those states that are too large for one person to handle. Please feel free to recommend some members around the Carolinas that you think would be good candidates. Maybe when you retire, it will be easier for you to start organizing events. There will always be a spot here at NECOA for you in some capacity. Thanks for all your contributions so far!

I understand the frustration of what you want to do is always being overridden by the things you have to do. Like John said, get some support in your region. Then you can delegate what you need to, or if you still don't have the time, turn it over to the most qualified individual. At the end of the day, this is just a hobby, and family has to be first.

I would be willing to do it again when I retire. Right now the military takes to much of my time.
