Has anyone lowered a 4th gen? I want to possibly lower my 77 SS.
Somone said you can buy coil spring locks or something?? that like compresses 2 of the coils together to lower the car? Never heard of them. Does anyone have any pix of any lowered 4th gens also? Thanks guys!

Contact Coil Spring Specialties at www.coilsprings.com/ and have them build you some lowering springs.

The best way is to get some spindles that lower it. You can compress the springs with some of those cheap adjuster you get at an Auto Supply but that is not going to give you your best ride or handling and you'll need to have a front end alignment after to correct for the camber caster.
With spindles you keep the ride quality and spring functions but lower the front from 1" to 2". Then get new springs you Elky is due new springs if they are original anyway. Cutting coils or compressing the coils leads to incorrect suspension capabilities and can lead to early part failure.
Go with lowering spindles, new springs and a good shocks. You'll appreciate the ride a lot more.
Just my $0.02 worth.
