Hello,

I was advised to post here because of the region, so here goes again. I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you guys a little about myself and my new ride. My name is Solomon and I live in Seattle. I've always loved old cars and recently came across an ad for this ride and thought to myself its either now or never. So I picked up this 1977 GMC Sprint Classic. For all you VIN Decoders: 5D80U7Z501756. I believe it came stock with a 305, not positive, but now it has a 350 in it. I'm not an expert in the field of cars, but hope to learn as much as I can from all you experts out there. There's only a few issues with the car, slightly sagging doors, speedometer not working (but have new one ready to install), bench seat needs to be reupholstered, headliner could use some finishing up, a few small rust spots, but over all not a bad car. So there you have it, thanks for having me and I could definitely use any tips or guides that yall wanna throw my way, it would be greatly appreciated. The pics attached aren't that great, but it was at night, hopefully I can get some better one's on here soon.

Hello again Solomon! Looks like you found yourself a nice ride.
I live in Onalaska, east of Chehalis and I'm just putting the final touches on my 72 rebuild. It's taken two years but I'm really looking forward to driving it this summer.
Region 19 is a fairly quiet group (probably due to being widely spreadout) but we are hoping to get some of us together sometime this spring.
You and I are close enough to meet in the middle somewhere and I know of one other Elky owner that lives in the Tumwater area.
Want to set up a tentative time and place so others can plan accordingly?
Jim Long

Welcome from Texas, nice find on the Elky. Plenty of help with your projects when needed, just ask and they will be answered:texas: No pics came across by the way!!:frown2:

very pretty. i love the 4th gen, thus why i own a 73, only issue i have found is the search for parts gets annoying. but i do love it, such a rewarding vehicle to build from what ive seen because there are not a ton of el caminos running around, and of that group even less are 4th gens (which i find weird because this gen had some of the highest production numbers, like 1973 was the highest year of production for el caminos ever.)
