Well hello again fellow elky owners! I'm finally finding the time to start the body finishing process. I started on the body fill today. With a little help from a buddy whos pretty good a body work, I plan on having him do the final sanding on the fill.(This is not my strongest point)I got him talked in to it.All I had to do is say the word BEER. I'll let yall know whem shes ready for paint.Hopefully it wont take much longer.I'd like to have this done by the 2nd week of July,this is the projected date. Talk to you all hopefully soon!!

Make sure you get him to block it. The panels are SO long and flat, you will regret it if he doesn't. Just a word to the wise.

I'm fairly sure he'll block it,he's done that in the past. He usually does really good work.Thanks for the advice though,and I'll definately send pics.Although I don't have a digital cam,I have 2 friends that do,these are also the ones that are helping with this project.So hopefully soon I'll be able to do so.

i just got an 1985 conquista and i wanted to know what the big thing is about a conquista whats different than a regular elky.

a conquista is basically the "cadillac" of the elkys. it came with all the options air,tilt,cruise,etc. wanna show us some pics of it?

What did the Conquista have that the SS didn't? They sound similar, did the SS have something under the hood that the others didn't, like a 4 barrell carb? I'm really curious.

pretty much all an SS is just a appearence pkg. some ss's had 350's but generally just a sticker pkg. some SS's had all the options as a conquista. depending on what you wanted. thats about the best i can do for explaining. hope i helped

well fellow elky owners,i'm about to become an even more proud owner of my '84 conquista. i pretty much finished up the prep work on it the best i could,the tailgate was a royal pain!!! i'm currently finishing up the mirrors.just gotta do a little more touch up,couple of lumps there yet. otherwise i got chvypwr78 to paint it. gonna paint her silver,and eventually put some stripes on it. i hate leaving my baby for periods of times,but it's for the best.i'd have to do it anyway at a regular shop,and they're people i dont know!!!I figured he did a pretty good job on his,so why not give him a case of beer or so and let him do it over a couple of days.the way plans go shes due to go there tuesday. i'll put pics on my album (Rob's '84) when i get her home. till then,wish me luck.....see y'all!
