check loose grounds and check / replace ignition coil. Wiggle your wires around distributor to check for loose connections. Check cap and rotor for cracks and wear ... Sounds like ignition problem or fuel problem ... investigate

If it just flat quit, I'd suspect an ignition module. Been there, done that many a time since the original HEI units in 1974. Pickup coils will often give some warning before they fail. Modules usually take you by surprise.

sure sounds like your ignition module. Someone else here recently had the same thing happen.Luckily, they are cheap and easy to replace.

How about the fuel pump? Put some starter fluid in the carb. and see if it pops.:dontknow:

Thanks for your input everybody. I started by checking to see if my hot wire even had juice. It did. I changed my rotor, nothing. I changed my module, still nothing. My buddy showed up and suprised me by pulling a brand new 60,000 volt distributor out of the box. We swaped it out and it fired right up. I dont know exactly what was wrong, but something with the distributor internally.

Not much in there except the module, coil, and pick-up coil.......
I did have a problem once with the wire harness that comes from the module, and runs up to connect to the cap...kinda unusual though....
