Im curious about fitting an aftermarket grille to my '82.
Honestly I dont know how much longer I can stand to see that stock piece on there.
Who is selling the nicest units? Who has the best price?
Is any modification involved in fitment?
Any information/opinions/experiences/pics/links would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, -- Rob in Reno.

This is the most common one I've seen used. I haven't installed one myself, but doing numerous online searches, this is one of the best I've come across...

Hope this works! :?

That looks like the Stull grill. Summit Racing has it for $95.
Here's a picture of it on my El. Stull Grille (http://www.poltergeist.us/page/Elky/Exterior/Pics/front_grille_silver.jpg)

I like the look of a billet grill also but didn't want to cut my original grill apart. My solution was to buy a 1981 grill, which is very close to the billet grill and bolts right in. Most of the major parts suppliers (some sponsors of this forum) carry them. I think the price is $65 less discount. HTH 8)

Yea, that billet grill from Charlies is pretty cool. I bought one from El Camino Parts catalogue. I foolishly paid about $140, but I had a $20 credit still. LOL It's only the very front of each bar is chromed and the rest is painted black. The instructions say that you have to cut the very top of the old grill and double sided tape it to the billet grill. I'm not too fond of this idea, but if that is how you do it, and I take my time, it might turn out pretty well.
It IS a sweet looking grill tho. Can't wait to put it on.

What I did was I bought a used one off of ebay, with shipping it was $15 or so. I cut that one up. I cut it so that I used the tape they supply but also some of the original mechanical mounting points also.
Now I also have my original grille if I want to put it back on.

Personally, i think I prefer the stock grill over the custom one everyone gets. I'm more want to keep the car stock appearance(save money, haha) and hopefully get a 350(maybe bigger?) put in sometime in the next few months. LOoks like a classic, but blows the doors off of all ricers! so what i'm saying, i don't think i care about customizing the outside as much, went off topic a bit

Yea, I bought one a year or so ago, and it's still not on. I didn't like the idea about using tape to help hold it on either. I need to adjust the mounts anyways, because it appears that I don't have thee right grill.
I see SOME billets around here, but not many.
I think I like the billet better than the original.
Maybe this weekend. LOL
