Just a quick post........what is the correct procedure for removing the T handle on a 1987 Elky? I need to remove the console and can't seem to grasp the push button handle removal. :dontknow:

Put the shifter in low gear [1st] and look at the back side that faces the dash, you will see a slot in the handle that has a u shaped clip in there similar to the clip that holds the window crank on, you should be able to pop the clip out with a screwdriver then the handle should just pull off.

Its funny cause I was at the pick a part today trying to get out a 96 Blazer console out and I was about to start beating on the damn thing with a hammer I was so frustrated until I seen that little slot.. Jammed in a flat head and it popped right on off!

I went to a PNP and used a punch and hammer to get it out. Stupid me!
