: rebuilding a column shift steering column

Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this should go here or in another topic but I need to rebuild or at least make more servicable my 74 column shift steering column.

I havn't gotten into the wiring yet but from what I can see it may need new signals and a new neutral safety switch/backup switch; I'll also need to tighten up the shift lever as it's extremely loose; falls out of park sometimes, moves without pulling on the lever.

Has anyone got any diagrams, experience, etc. for this? I know I'll need a steering wheel puller and possibly some other tool for the snap ring thing I've read about, but I'm mainly worried about what to do once I get it apart.

Or should I just get a new one from columns galore? It's a pertty decent price.

Any advice on the swap?
