OK just heard back from LoJack. We can have a club discount for our club cars only. Cars must be 1987 or older which all our el caminos are. We would need about 10 cars done at the same time so they can send one tech out to spend the day.
The system is self-powered so no cutting into existing wires or draining your cars battery. MSRP for Basic system is $695 + tax. Club discount price would be $275 + tax. Early Warning system which notifies you up to 5 times if the car is being moved w/o your consent, MSRP $995 + tax club discount $425 + tax. Also recommended was the 7 year warranty so you can replace your battery for free within the 7 years or correct any other system related problems. 7 year warranty MSRP $150 + tax club discount $50 + tax.
Anybody in the NYC, westchester, rockland, orange, nassau, suffolk, dutchess, putnam, lower CT, etc we could set it up here at my shop.

Hmmm, so the Early Warning plus the 7-year warranty is $475 + tax? I'm into that for two vehicles. Now, anyone in Central Texas willing to meet up for the low price of $275 + tax, up to $475 + tax? If so, we need to set up a time and place.

I've lost a vehicle once before, and I assure you that I too have the means to protect my family and property.......not to mention the anger of confrontation with a potential thief. However, they stole my vehicle while I was at work, so I couldn't stop them, and the results were ugly when I got my vehicle back. If you've EVER had a vehicle stolen, then you're well aware that these thieves can and will take your vehicle at will, and it's a real eye opener because the justice system is worthless on car thieves.

Two years ago I received a money order for .05 cents from the thief, my lawyer told me that he was brought up on charges of another vehicle theft . The court would ask him if he was paying me back for my damages, and with that check, he could say " Yes ". The system will not allow me to " know " his name, or address. So it really comes down to the fact that thieves know the system, and continue to steal vehicles at will.

Adding the LoJack system allows us to actually " Know " the address and the name of the thief and get the vehicle returned quickly. Then, myself, I can handle the real justice due. So losing a vehicle is a sad affair, and this LoJack system to me would seem invaluable at ANY price!

I am interested in the Lojack system, and may be in for this deal. The cost of the system is a lot less than the heartache of having my Elco go missing.
I will do a little research and check out other systems/options for alarms and theft prevention, and make a decision - soon.

If we use Belton, I'll only have the Elky there, but that's fine. It's the easiest to mess with since it's on the driveway and the'56 is in the garage. I'm ready fur dat!!!

Thanks very much, LoJackian, for the information. As we get a little closer to Belton, and get our attendance list in order, we can then ask how many members would commit to the LoJack group purchase. We would just be chasing Ghosts right now. By April 15, I'll put a message out and we'll see if we have at least 10 Texas members interested. Meanwhile, I encourage all the members to research LoJack and see if it meets their needs as far as function and price. As for me, I'll place my name first on the list......................Ken

I'm sc Harpman but can't afford all that right now, just relying on my wiener dog to scare off the thieves. But in a few months I might be able to swing that deal if we get 8 more.

Where about are you located, don't see many sc guys on here..
