Hello

I was wondering what to do with the rims i have on my elky now, the years have not been kind to them so they are touched by the weather.
should i make em chrome? (wouldn't that chip off ?) hmm nice coloured chrome.
or just get em sanded and powdercoated aluminium?
I like the look of these rims very much, i call em Turbine rims hehe :)
If u want to see what rims i talk about, try to get ur peek on in 4th gen album last page (4) then Dopatha's elky and u can see what i mean.
If there is no other solution to to this in a nice fashion i will buy new ones np.
I will put a pic up of the rims asap, but please give me some ideas.

Thanks in advance.

i think you could just get them bead blasted to clean then up, then get them powder coated. I think it would look pretty good and would be a whole lot cheaper than getting them chromed.

I have a 73 SS that came with the Trubine Wheels. The Trubine effect is made of a hard rubber and can't be chromed or sand balsted.
I was never able to find the center caps and chrome rings for these wheels, so I stored them and put a set of Rally, 15 x 7 wheels on the Camino.
They look better and I like the effect.
I will keep the originals because that is what the "Build Sheet" specifies for this vehicle.
If your's doesn't have rubber fins that make up the turbine effect, then they are not original "GM Turbine Wheels".
Have a nice day.
