I am starting this post / thread so all Region 2 members can reference it for information (which was taken from the show's flyer). This info will also be posted to the ECC calendar.

This show has a specific "El Camino" class.

Mapquest location is Hayward Field, North Avenue, Attleboro, MA. Exit 3A from 95S or exit 3 and 5 from 95N.

South Attleboro Lions Club 11th Annual Antique Auto Show. Sunday, September 12, 2004. Rain date is September 19th. Registration is 8:00 to noon. Entrance fee is $10.00 ($8.00 pre reg.). Judging noon to 1:00PM, and awards given at 3:00PM.
Special drawing (participants only) for 27" TV, DVD player, tickets to World of Wheels, and 4 tickets to Seekonk Speedway.

Special note. The show committee reserves the right to split or delete class based on participation. Driver makes decision if fall into more than one class. Any club that wants a separate class must call 3 weeks in advance.

We always need to support car shows that have specific "El Camino" classes. Keep me informed if you can attend and I will pass on the info to the show's organizers. That way, the "El Camino" class will be assured.

Please email jlevitan@holycross.edu for the flyer which has a registration form

I hope i will be able to attend this show. i will talk to my mom about it tommorow and i got a question, how do you pre register? if we do have a few members going to this show i think we should all meet up somewhere and drive in together. that would be so awsome. Please keep me updated on this one as i am definetly gana plan on attending.

who else is planning on atending besides Kleenex 2004 and myself?

I will be attending and have already sent in my "pre-registration" form. Send me an email at jlevitan@holycross.edu with your full name and address. I'll send out flyer with the "pre-registration" form to you. I think it is only $7 bucks or so.
But it is always good to pre-registrer for any show that has an "El Camino" class. That way the car show sponsor's don't drop the class.

if we do have a few members going to this show i think we should all meet up somewhere and drive in together

Driving in together sometimes is difficult to organize, as people come from different directions and times. I tried to do this before and it just got to complicated. Lets see what happens closer to the show date??

I was searching around, and found a good place to get together if some of us do decide to do a drive in together. There is a walmart about 7 miles from the show. I am realy hoping to go to this show. the only thing in my way from saying im definetly going is i havent asked my dad yet. (prety sure he will let me go)

i would like to try to organize the drive in if possible, so anyone that is interested please post how far from the show you are, and the earliest time you could get to the walmart (or other sugested meeting place)

I think i could probly get there by 7, i live about 2 hours away from the show.

Thanks alot
Dave

Following up on David's idea of meeting prior to the car show and driving in together.

Mapquest the Walmart located at 1470 S. Washington, North Attleboro, MA. This is down the road from the Emerald Square Mall. Looks like it is exit 1a off Rt. 295. After we all meet up at Walmart, we can go down S. Washington Street and pick up Rt. 95 North. Then take exit 3 and follow signs to the car show at Hayward Field.

The show opens at 8:00 AM and judging is from noon to 1:00PM. So, lets come up with a time to meet????

i think we should leave from walmart at or around 8:00.
One thing i strongly sugest is that we all have cell phones so if one of us is running late we can wait for them. I plan on leaving my house at 5 so i will probly be at walmart by 7.(hopefully if no car troubles)

I'll blast out an email reminder. No problem Dave. I've had some email server issues at work, so if you don't see it, update this post and I'll figure out another solution.

I'll probally be able to meet up with you and whoever else wants to meet at Walmart before the show begins.

Sounds great Ernie! Looks like the weather will be good "car show" weather. Not sure what size car show this is, as this will be our first year attending this one.

Funny thing is that I sold the '72 to a guy who lives very close to this show. I bet I'm going to be going up against my old ride. That will seem strange.

Last reminder before this weekends 11th Annual Antique Auto Show presented by the South Attleboro Lions Club.

A few of us are going to meet in the Walmart parking lot located at 1470 S. Washington, North Attleboro, MA at 9:00 AM. This is down the road from the Emerald Square Mall. Looks like it is exit 1a off Rt. 295. After we all meet up at Walmart, we can go down S. Washington Street and pick up Rt. 95 North. Then take exit 3 and follow signs to the car show at Hayward Field.

So far, for meeting at Walmart, I have heard from David Binder (caspiantiger,86 maroon elky), Laurie and Mark Howard (montego), and Peter Lazzarino (Kleenex 2004 , 86 gold elky), and myself. Anybody else going to the show that wants to meet at the Walmart??? We are going to leave the Walmart fairly soon after we meet to go to the show.

I have heard from John Harris who will try to make it around 10:00 and Ernie will probably come by around noon. Any other members plan on attending??? Suppose to be great weather on Sunday.

Remember to put "National El Camino Owners Association" for club affiliation on the entrance form!!

Nice meeting you David and Jamie. Good to match up a face with a name. Also good seeing Mark, Laurie, Ernie and John again.
It was a good day for a car show. About 350 cars. Six in the El Camino / Ranchero catagory. Four Elky's and two Ranchero's.
As David said, Mark took second place and I took third. Sad to say, the Ford took first.
I post a few pic's at ECC Car show page (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?set_albumName=Region-2-Lions-Car-Show-091204&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php)
