Now that I'm gettnig close to buying the '86 Choo Choo, I would like to consider replacing the seats with Buckets. Saw the other post on that, so I think I can handle finding Buckets. But how about the console? Is that unique to the El Camino? Other suggestions?
Sure appreciate you guy's educating me!! My first restoration wa a '63 Avanti, and I sure could have used a Forum like this. Spent a lot of money the wrong way!
Thanks,
Mike

Monte Carlos' from the same years (78-87) are the same also. Seen a few on Ebay, but watch what you bid on, a lot of them need some serious work to restore, and some are just plain ole garbage! They can be dyed to match your interior color. You'll need a floor shifter too, with the shifter cable.

There were two Monte Carlo consoles. The 83-84 console had a small compartment with a door in the front which contained the ashtray. The others just have a small change cup in the front. I think the 83-84 consoles look better because they look better under the radio. You could also put in a G-body Cutlass console.
