was talking to mike (mikeselkie) last night and he didn't know what I meant by wheel spinners. here's what I mean. will add these to the center of my orange S-10 rims w/trim rings. should be different and give me some nice flash.

I put a set of these on my buddy's caprice, I do like the spinners, although I never had a clue that's what they were called

I always refered to those as 'knock offs'. When I think of 'spinners' I think of those awful things that keep spinning even when your vehicle is stopped. :poke:

In 1958 I had spinner hubcaps on my 1956 Chevy convertible. They looked a little like knock-offs but in those days we called them spinners, at least in this area. The terminology is probably a mix of generational and geographical. I even had bubble fender skirts on it. Remember those? Oh how I wish I had that car today so I could post a pic of it, and drive it again!:smileyb:

I should probably clarify that my spinner hubcaps did not sit there and spin after the wheel stopped turning. That's just plain ugly!

I am looking for '61 SS centers for a similar idea!

Going to have to find them one at a time at swap meets and wrecking yards, complete sets go for silly money.

I do not need the wheel cover portion, just the centers.

Three eared version, with cast-in Chevy logo's.

That is the type I'm trying to find.

Years ago they were as common as dirt, the wrecking yards did not even save them, threw them in with the scrap fenders.

Of course back then I was only interested in european cars and did not save any.
Damned hindsight!

Ahhhhhhh! The good olde days! Spinner caps, bubble fender skirts, "dummie" spotlights, lowered (not slammed) rides, bare foot go pedals, Moon Eyes decals, etc., etc.!
