Hey Guys and Gals,

The starter went out on my GMC and had to replace it today, While I was looking around I found the casting # on the block. Now I don't think it's the original but the # intrigues me (3970010) from what i've read on the net it's either a HI-PO 327 or a HI-PO 350. When I bought the truck the block had been decked so I Can't get the vin# from the front and I have the Camelhump heads on it too. When I get new valve covers I'll look for the casting # on it. I know there at least the 300 horse but I hope there the 350 horse heads. :wink:

There are other possibilities too. That block was used for many different applications.

Yeah, I found them on Mortec, but I didn't go to nasty Z28.com. I'm trying to find the casting#s for my exhaust manifold on the net . The #s are rtside(3973432)
lftside(3839043). Could that tell if it was on a 327? I don't think if anybody rebuilds a engine that they take the original exhaust manifold off and put on new unless they are headers.
