We just bought a 1970 and need help decoding the VIN # 136800K189290

K= Kansas City, Leeds, MO assembly plant
189290 = basic production numbers. Starting number 100001/up

My book is not helping with me with this number to well.

Th engine number should be Plant - month - day - code
So...
T= Tonawanda engine plant
04= month of April
08= day , which can't be correct
0RF= my book doesn't list this code.

we read the code wrong last night...it is T040CRE which means it is a
350 300 TH-350 4bbl
