In October, not sure exactly when, there will be a cruise at NJ's only drive-in on delsea dr. or rt.47. I will keep you posted as we get closer, the drive-in is still under construction, but we are open, so if anyone is ever in the south jersey area, swing by, I know you'll love it.

I live in Washington Twp. Where on Delsea Drive? My Dad has said there should be a drive-in around here forever.

My dad would be the one driving (I'm only 15) so if you could post directions we might stop by when we have a chance. :)

Holy smokes! I didn't know they still called it Delsea Drive.

I grew up in Philly and in the late 50s, early 60s used to drive down to Jersey and visit Vineland Speedway and Atco Dragway. What a blast that was. I hope a lot of PA and NJ members will join you at this event. Be sure to post more details on ECC and keep your Regional Director, Bryon Shook, in the loop. His email is: Elcamino72@hotmail.com

Good luck!

We were driving by there the other day, but I must have missed it. You can give directions if you want. Is it just going to be a local type El Camino meeting or will it be a car show for all years when it's ready to happen?

This sounds like a great opportunity to get some El Camino's together. It depends on when the cruise is if I can make it or not. If it is one of the first two weekends, they are out. The first weekend in Oct. is Fall Carlisle, then the second is Fall Hershey. Then a few weekends later, is Goodguys down in NC, but I doubt I'll be making that trip based on it's timing.

Post this down in the Region 3 forum as you get more information, I'm sure we'll have some members that'll be there!!!

But it is open to all cars, sadly mine won't be there :( . It is right next to McCracken real estate and right before the salvaion army, were the rent a wreck and the mack truck shop is, you'll see a big sign if u look high on delsea. If u can email me b/c i wasn't notified about these responses and normally i get notified about a response. so once again i apologize for my lateness.

Doesn't it say on the website it's taking place the Sunday of Labor Day weekend?

the cruise isn't that weekend, the labor day weekend is a different thing. I ran it by the owner about the cruise in and he said go for it. the only thing we haven't settled on yet is the date b/c i wanna ask u guys when, it's gonna be a weekend in september or october, so i am hoping u guys can help us a lot there. The rules are basically how they should be: must be AMERICAN MADE, 1978 or older, but discontinued cars are exempt, so all elcaminos and cabaleros and firebirds and cars that are no longer made but are younger than 1978. I am the coordinator so we will notify the hotels if u guys wanna stay the night and anything. remember open to all cars. we are getting a second projector so we will show the old archieved movies like cannonball run and bullet, so if u have any movie ideas just throw them out to me. We do ask that u do not bring your own food b/c the drive-in makes no money off the box office, the only money that goes to the drive-in is what we bring in from the concession. i guess thats it for now, if u have any questions or ideas or anything just leave me a post or email me at warrior71683@comcast.net

we plan on having the cruise by the end of our season which will be late october or early november, it is an all day event so it gives everyone a chance to settle and bull**** before the movies start, we will show 2 clasic films such as hotrods from hell and the other film is still undecided, we are working on vendors during the day. NECOA is my main concern, i would like to get you guys in, also we can set you up in hotels if you choose to stay the night. The drive-in does ask that you don't bring outside food in b/c, the drive-in makes their money off the concessions, which is why drive-ins go down each year, we only make 10 % off the ticket sales. We all hope to see you there, if you have any questions or anything email me at warrior71683@comcast.net or leave a post.
