Whats the absolute BEST stuff to use when painting and detailing the engine bay: firewall, inner wheel wells, frame that is accesable, yadda yadda. Thanks a million! Any pics of your finished paintjobs would be awesome!

I just went to PepBoys and bought high-temp paint. Then I went over that with high-temp clear. It worked well on the plastic and great on the metal.(Cheap too ) I think it was Duplicolor or Krylon. I don't think there is a lot of difference between them. I'm sure if you use 3M Perfect-It 2 to compound the paint it would look even better. I didn't get around to doing that yet.
Thi image blows up pretty big if you click it on my member page twice(in my signiture). Check out the fender well, inside metal part of the fender, the wiper motor arm, and the fan shroud. That stuff was dull and rusty before I painted it. I didn't paint the passenger side fender yet. There's too much stuff in the wayhttp://elcaminocentral.com/albums/Supercharged-SS/oe_wheels_el_camino_011.sized.jpg

Thanks for the response! It looks great..well anything with a blower on top of it looks great..but the paint looks good too! thanks again. Quick question, what is "3M Perfect-It 2"? a primer?
I blame my ignorance on my lack of age. thanks again!

3M Perfect-It 2 is a paint finnishing rubbing compound. You can put it on a buffer and do it that way too. It takes out the orage peel, oversparay, all the litle imperfections. I actually suggest going over your car with it! It makes a lot of difference on any color. It's only about $8 for 16 oz. and about $13 for a quart.
