Anybody got a favorite method? What's the generally accepted procedure to install new front springs on a 5th gen Elky?

Phil, try using the search feature for tips. As I recall, there has been a lot written on this subject in the past.

I did, actually. Didn't get a lot of relevant information. At any rate, I did the whole front end this weekend without too much trouble.

put it in place, jack it up from underneath, when it trys to push out beat the hell out of it with a hammer!

Now that you did it you can post procedures so the next guy can do the search and use your example.

It is really better to go all out and replace the front end while its down and doesn't require that much more work.
