Hey all,

I'm a Commodity Relocation Specialist (TruckDriver) during the week.
And when I get home on the weekends and sometimes during the week,I drive my 71 around town.
One day about 3 weeks ago it would not start. My old man and I towed it to
the local shop here in town and he checked it and said the starter took a crap on me. So I had the starter replaced, Drove it home, parked it in the garage and didn't try to strat it again till tonight. Was gonna take my daughter to the video store and the dang thing won't start again. It won't turn over. Only the generator light comes on.Can anybody tell me what to look for? When the starter was replaced it poped right off and now nothing. thanks for your replys. Will check back in the morning, Don't have to be on the road till 1:00 pm tommorow.

:? I have had that problem in the past & here are some simple thing's to check on: 1. Are your battery terminal's/clamp's clean? 2. Check the ground cable that go's to the engine block. 3. Is your netural safety switch connected right? Switch might be broken...Try moving your shifter back & forth thru the gear's, put it back in Park & try again. Some car's have to have the Brake Peddle depresed before starting. 4. Battery could be low charged-be week or broken plate inside...have it checked. 5. Hate to say it, it has happened...your NEW starter could be bad! When they replaced the starter, did they replace the Solonoid too??? I usually do, they seem to both go bad at the same time!
