My 87 I just got a few months ago I was thinking of adding bigger wheels than the stock 14". I am wondering what is the largest I can go with, that wont cause me to have to modify anything. Also was wondering if I should just paint the current rims and keep them. They are the stock wheels with the center caps....kinda cool, however need to replace the center stickers with the sticker that matches the hood orniment....its a red star burts with the gold chev emblem in the center.....anyone know where I can get them cheap....went to a sticker place in the mall and they would make me a set that I think would match the paint job, drk gry and light gry, for $20......
Also was thinking about American Racing "Outlaw II" Series 62 and or Z-Racing, type 62

These are more my style, literly. These are the ones on the 80 I have. One is just the wheel the other is what they look like with my tires mounted.

But those you picked will look nice on your Elky too. Everyone has different tastes.

Outlaw 2 is just an all-around great wheel. My brother has these on his v8 bronco 2 and I must say they look good. I have another favorite from Centerline I believe, the Convo Pro, the one with the five spokes, man that is an awesome wheel. Look in the jegs catalog thats where they have em.

I'm so picky when it comes to wheels. Wheels are such a personal choice with so many sizes and styles out there now to choose from. Go with what YOU think is cool and looks nice. What others like is just that....what THEY like. Its YOUR ride and YOUR money. It's fine to ask an opion on anything but again remember go with what you like.
I think your choice of the Outlaw design wheels are very nice as they look great with our classic style of the El Camino. I like the Weld drag-lite wheels with the holes also. Almost same design but with a higher polish to them. Those wheels never go out of style.
Just my picky taste again but twist, or spin, design wheels such as Elky Pete's....If they are correct directional wheels they will be made in a set for right or left side of the car so they will both turn with the same design on each side. I don't like the look of left and right side wheels facing different directions. (One side with the spin going forward toward the front of the car, and on the other side the spin of the wheel going toward the rear of the car. I don't know if his are true directional style or not. They are a beautiful looking wheel though.

I had Outlaws on mine and boy are they a BITCH to keep clean. I have always been a steel wheel freak easy to clean, just my opinion aluminum just does not stay clean I like to wash it dry it and polish with little effort, maybe it's just my age!

They are True Directional Rims by Billet Specialties, they were manufactured at the time I put in a purchase request. I had a heck of a time getting the tire shop to put the tires on the wheels correctly. The tires are also directional (Z series). When I went to pick them up they were any which way. I had them pull the ones that were backwards off and re-mount and balance them.
MY other wheels are not true directional spokes. They are the American Eagle Alloy wheels, AM 203, 15" rims. I still like them. And I agree that someone should pick and run with the rims that they are the happiest with. Only one person owns the car/truck so that should reflect their taste.
I figure that if we didn't figure that way (El Camino Owners) then we'd be driving around some Rice Grinder like everyone else on the road these dayz. :D
