i just started to sand my elcamino. the right side is very solid. the left side around the wheel opening on the quarter panel. its rusted.. i started to bondo it but i really dont want to have a wheel opeining full of filler. does anyone HAVE just a cut out of the wheel opening i just need enough to cut the rust out and replace with the new part. id like about 3 inches tall all around, so if anyone has sometihng to help me out please comment back, another tihng, the tailgate on my 82 might of been replaced cuz it was a diff shade color... the bezel with the lisensce plate fit.. but the top stuck out a little. my talegate needs to be deeper for it to fit in correcelty. did the wagons or some other year elky have a deeper tailgate or something? i just need a shallower bezel so it fits in flush i had about half a inch sticking out. id like informtantion on that and also if anyone has something for me comment back

Many of the parts and sheet metal suppliers like opgi.com and npdlink.com carry wheel opening flairs. You can always cut out just the section you need to replace the perforated area.

i think i know what you mean about the license plate pocket sticking out a bit on the tailgate. is there a dent on the backsaid of the tailgate? that may cause it to stick out,thats what it turned out to be on my '83.
