Surely some of you have observed this. The 'chrome' is begining to bubble and come off from my '83 Elky's grill. What do you do, buy a replacement grill or what??? Sounds expensive!

i painted mine. sanded it all down, cleaned it with paint thinner and sprayed it with aluminium header paint. headlight bezels too. i would post a pic but i don't exactly know how. it looks good too. just make sure you clean it after you sand it down.

A new grill i probably the way to go,or billit aluminum replacement from OPGI.I have heard you can have plastic parts chromed but i have no idea who does it.It's probably expensive anyway so you may be better off buying a new grill.

the one in my 83 is dechroming. i may just paint it black or go with a custom tube grill.

That happened to mine. I did the same thing as above, but I used chrome paint. Don't. Just buy a new one. As for the chrome on the door panels, just buy some chrome tape and put it on. It looks great.
