Well i think that i figured out why my elky would run rough every 2 or 3 months... I took my time this afternoon and pulled out all of the plugs and replaced them all again with Autolite platinum AP26, also replaced the cap and rotor (wires were already pretty new)...

The only plug that had oil was the number 7 cylinder, i put a non fouler on it,, started it up and it still ran rough. I double checked my firing order and it seemed odd... i tried turning the dist., still no luck,,,.

I jumped on ECC and found a post about setting the timing, wiring etc...

I've never turned the crank(no one was here to bump the starter) to get the rotor to the #1 cylinder b4.... (the thought of that would scare me),, so i did it and started my running my wires from that point clockwise, when i was through...GUESS WHAT BOYS AND GIRLS IT STARTED RIGHT UP!!!! RUNS LIKE A FRICKIN WET DREAM!!!!!

Never say what you can't do!!!

Since it runs well now, I would remove that anti fouling device. As someone stated earlier, it does cause an increase heat which you want to avoid if possible.

Would the firing order being screwed up caused the plug to become oily, if so then i will take out the anti-fouler but, if not then i will leave it in, because it will foul out again pretty soon. know what i mean..

No, the firing order would not cause the plug tip to be oily. To my knowledge, the only cause of oil getting on the plug tip is from leaky rings that allow oil to pass into the combustion chamber.

Since one of the very knowledgeable guys on this site said the Autolite Platinum tip will fire right through that oil and never foul, I would remove the anti fouler for now and closely monitor engine performance for a returning misfire. To me, that is a better option than the extra heat caused by the anti foul device. Actually, all you have to do is wait to see if the misfire returns in the same time frame as before. If it does return, you will know the platinum tip does not work as stated. If you remove the anti foul device, please let us know if the platinum tip works. Personally, I would like to know the results of the test.
