a73elkyss 09-07-2004, 05:49 PM Thanks for the post Michelle. And welcome to ECC / NECOA. Are you bringing your Camero to this show, or an El Camino?
I saw your Camero pictures. Looks great. I especially like how you detailed the engine compartment.
I have seen the flyer for this show and it looked good. But, I'm already commited to another car show for that weekend.
MJwrabbit 09-07-2004, 06:44 PM Thanks for the welcome, a73elkyss! :-D
I am brining my Camaro to the show. I do not own an El Camino but I am an avid muscle car enthusiast, of course being partial to Chevy's. 8) My first car was a 1970 Chevelle. I loved that car!
Anyway, I came upon your forum while getting the word out about our show. Very impressive forum! I like the setup, organization and the fact that I recieved a welcome e-mail from the moderator of this section and a warm welcome from a member. Makes me wish I did own an El Camino!! :-D
I am just contributing information to my fellow car enthusiasts and hopefully making some friends along the way! It's a great feeling when someone comes up to you at a show and you find out that you know them from a club or forum.
The premimition II Is awesome! Love all the pics. Showboard came out great. Hopefully, someday I can see it in person at a show. :)
a73elkyss 09-08-2004, 07:11 AM Morning Michelle.
Thanks for the props on my elky. Hey, maybe someday down the road you can get an El Camino to compliment that Camero of yours :-) . Once you get the El Camino bug, it will be tough to get over it....
Anyway, you must be a member of the east coast camaro club?? Sounds good. Keep us informed of future events and maybe we can run into each other at a show or two. Hey, any chance that next year your club will have a seperate catagory for El Camino's??? Just a hint, wink, wink,.. 8-)
We have another El Camino Central member who is the president of the Firebirds Forever car club. She keeps us informed of car shows and I met her at their car show this past August. Keeps the hobby interesting.

Do you think the El Camino club might consider coming to next years show? I might be able to get an El Camino class established if there would be enough to fill the class, KWIM? Let me know and I will see what I can do.
The FFCC pres. also posts on my Second Generation Camaro forum (www.nastyz28.com) that I belong to. I welcome any information like that. Although, I had already registered for the Bearing Burners/ Shawsheen Tech Show when I heard about the FFCC show. :-( My Brother in law is a member of the FFCC, also.
Can you believe that one forum I posted to didn't want the information? 8O They actually got a bit huffy about it. :? I simply do not understand that. Whatever.... their loss. I think you gain so much from fellow car enthusiasts. Even ones with different cars and what better way to meet them but through a forum or at a show? If I didn't post the show info, we would not be talking right now and I would probably have never found this forum.
I have lots of show information. There is a show on Sept 26th at DeSantis Chevrolet, 1555 Main St., Brockton, MA. 11th annual All-Vehicle show. I think I will be there also.
John Harris 09-08-2004, 08:54 AM Hi Michelle - Glad that you found ECC and NECOA, and that you are in touch with Jay Levitan, our Regional Director for NE. All of the leadership of NECOA believes in sharing info about events and joint "meet-and-greets. " A funny thing happened a few months back...a fellow from MA drove out to the mid-West to attend a large show and meet other El Camino owners. While there he met our Regional Director and was told of our website for the first time and how to contact us. So he had to go all the way to Kansas to find out about our very active region in his backyard!! Ironic, isn't it??
Hope you will join up with us at one the shows/cruises that Jay is posting for our members to attend around NE as they are available. Always a nice bunch of people to meet there. Some of us will be attending a few more events before the winter chill takes over. See you around.
MJwrabbit 09-08-2004, 09:59 AM Hi John! Very cool custom you have there! I thought that nose looked familiar! :-D You are right in my neighborhood! I'm in Tewksbury! Do you go to Brooks on Sundays at all? I have not gone a lot this year as I have been really involved with the ECCC (East Coast Camaro Club). There is also a cruise at the Billerica 99 restaurant on the turnpike on Monday nights. They raffle off appitizers and an entree for the 99's. The Sunrise Kruisers host it. I am usually there too. It was the first club I belonged to after buying my Camaro. 8-)
I try to keep it to local shows as with 52,000 original miles, I want to keep it low. Someday I will be able to buy a trailer. The farthest I have gone is the All Wheels Nationals in Falmouth. It was the weekend of Aug 28th. What a great show!!
Jay, did you send me the welcome letter? It is on my other computer so I wasn't sure if it was you.
Will be looking for you guys at the shows from now on! 8)

Yes, that would be me. I try to keep track and welcome region 2 members. We have a pretty good region email list that I use to communicate shows, cruises, etc. to the other members. Sometimes, I tend to ramble and send out to much information.....

Now here is a good reason to buy an El Camino! You have to tow that trailer with something :-) .

How many El Camino's would your club need to establish an El Camino class? I would think that we would be able to schedule it for next year. Let me know and will start beating the drum early for next year.
The main reason a bunch of us are going to the S. Attleboro Lions car show on the 12th is because it has a specific El Camino class. As a matter of fact, some members are coming down from NH and the North Shore.
As a side note, when I look over car show flyers and schedules, I always look for an El Camino class first. I try and go to those first. I'm sure you’re the same with your Camero in wanting to be in your own class???
I will be looking over this coming winter to try and get the word out much earlier for car shows, so people can better plan their time. Please feel free to post as many car shows notices on the Region 2 forum. Because our region covers six states, I'm looking for shows to post in as many locations as possible. Seems this year, we really just did CT, RI, and MA.
Not sure if your going to the Sept. 19 car show in Ashland, MA. It is a small show, but we had a good time last year. Check out the
car show information (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5447)
Keep me informed via ECC or feel free to email me at jlevitan@holycross.edu

E-mail away! Between you and me we should have every show and cruise down pat in the NE region!!! :-D

I like the way you think!!! Then I can enter both of them in the show!!8)
Besides, my next dream is to have another 70 Chevelle, what could be closer and more practical!!!

I'm not sure but I will e-mail the presdient and have it brought up at the next meeting and will let you know asap. They will be meeting on the 19th.

Yes, Even at the All Wheel Nationals, it wasn't enough to even have a separate class for Camaros. We need them classed by generation or the first gens go home with all the trophies.
