I was just looking at some for my 73 earlier this week. Try www.easyrestoration.com . They have a sale on til the middle of Oct on some of the hoods.

I saw them in a catalogue somewhere. The Ususl suppliers, OPGI, Paddock, EC Parts, El Camino Store, etc.

Check them out, they are out there, but they are glass. Buy the best one possible so it holds up, at least for awhile.

Good luck,

Mayhem:

I just checked my OPGI book. They have fiberglass 4" cowl hoods for $499.95, plus $49.95 for the springs.

Good luck, let us know how it works out.

I have a cowl hood from US Body Source. Very well built and rigid. They even have a tilt front end and Laguna front pieces as well. Check it out:

Hi,
I have a 4" cowl L88 style on mine, a '75 Elky. If I remember correctly it is made by Fibermotive out of Fla. It is their race weight hood so it required pins. However they do make a street weight hood that you bolt to your existing hinges using light weight springs along with the factory latch.
Gelcoat was nice, under hood is not gelcoat but very smooth. The race weight may go 5-7lbs not sure of the weight on the street hood.

Just my 2 cents
