Well the Elky got registered this morning and off on errands I went. Sooooo cooooool! :) All the thumbs up and stares are such an ego boost.

Replaced the dried out windshield wipers then went to my mechanic/friend so we could flush the antifreeze, oil and filter change, general checkup. Well everything went fine until I heard a heart sinking "OH MY GOD, LEO LOOK!" come out of him. He had pulled the RF wheel and the disk rotor was paper thin and the pads were nearly non existant. In addition the brake lines were suffering from a serious case of dry rot. The brakes looked so bad I'm surprised they worked at all. When he pulled the calipers off the bads fell away in pieces!! I couldn't believe it, a very dangerous situation

So a radiator flush/oil change/two bulb replacements/AC charge/all new rotors, pads, and brake lines and $500 lighter in the wallet I got to go home.

Tomorrow we'll check the rear brakes, pray for me and my wallet!

It's to be expected. Make it safe and enjoy it.

Better to find out when your new Elky is on the lift than to find out the hard way.

I agree. See, now that Elky can stop as well as it looks. It does look fantastic.

By the way, I don't think $500 is all that bad for the work performed. Money well spent if you ask me.

Enjoy the ride Leo!

Leo, prayers are with you on the rears. Do you have any pics bigger than the thumb on your posts? I'd like to check it out. Looks good from what I can see of it.
