Anyone know of boneyards in the Philly area for Elky/G-body vehicles?
I'd really like a rear window if anyone has seen one or knows which direction to snoop.
Thanks.

Semms that no body can come up with a bone yard near Philly including me. What parts are you looking for specifically?

There is a myriad of little things I could use but mostly looking for a rear sway bar, back up rear window (as I have to remove mine in the spring to fix the notorious "elky rear window leak"), a drivers door would be nice, front parking signal lens ... I feel like I'm making a list for Santa.
My door panels could be replaced if I found something in decent shape and rear kick panels.

How far are you from Elkton Md ?I know where there is a boneyard south of there. They have at least 5-6 5th generations of Elkys and 3-4 Monte SS part cars. The only problem is He is high on his prices. If you're reasonably close or would just like to take a ride,it would be interesting just to go look and maybe you might find something worth the extra cash.
If interested,Its location is very close to where you get off of I 95 south on to 272 don't know the exit # but it is the one for the town of North East Md.The name of the yard is called "Marrs Auto Parts"also He is closed on Mon and Tues.
Good Luck; Terry

this one is in King of Prussia, I don't go to this one alone... i haven't been to it lately but they always had a good selection of 80's gm rwd cars.

this is Harry's. Harry's has three locations, i've been to the one in Pennsburg. This is a clean place, as far as junkyards go. all the cars are propped up off the ground which makes getting stuff from under the cars easy. prices are high on some parts and they have 'core' charges on some things.

this one is pretty far away, it's near Hamburg (Cabella's, Hawk Mountain) it's a big place with lots and lots of 80's gm stuff. they are liberal on the prices, if you get a few things they tend to overlook the small stuff (as long as you aren't trying to sneak anything out)

I rarely come across El Camino's when I go to any of these junkyards but there are plenty of the less popular G body makes and models with parts that interchange to our el camino's.

These junkyards i mentioned are "you pull it" types where you take tools, pay admission, and then pay per part on your way out.

You might live in the Pottstown area, if you do there are several others in the immediate area that are the kind that pull the parts for you. i have had mixed results with these - most often the guy at the counter is too busy selling higher dollar 90's parts to local garages to give us folks fixing up older cars the time of day.

sweet, thanks for the info! although I have to say my 84 is in pretty good shape and I should be thankful for what I have, I'm always looking for little touches. The KofP sounds like a stop after work ..... curious why you don't visit alone?? big mean dog?

there's no big mean dog or gunshots and car alarms. it's not that bad it's just that none of the cars were ever up on blocks or anything when i went. the cars were all packed together and the person operatin the car mover machine was pretty dangerous, if you're under a car when he starts moving stuff around 8O
