Hi-
I am a US Marine stationed in Beaufort, SC and I recently inherited my dad's 67. The more I play with it the more I like it! I am really trying to decide what I'd like to do with it next. As of now, it is sitting in my garage, and I try to drive it about once or twice a week. It runs really well (it has the original 396/325 in it.) I think that it is not the original color..From what I can decipher from this and other websites. I am a little confused about a couple of things, though, and I was wondering if any of you could help me out with a few questions I have? Also, how frequently do the people in this region meet and is there a "usual" location? I'd really like to get involved. Maybe someday (hopefully after a few more sets of tires..) I can pass this car down to my kid, too (He's only 5..He'll have to wait--)

I have tried to post in the VIN forum with no luck. I am hoping I can get some help/advice from someone in my region. Thanks in advance.

Beach-
Thanks for the reply. I have a few questions already- Hopefully, you or some of the other region 5 guys can answer them.
FIRST - The proverbial "What's it worth." -- I know the answer..It depends! I have done a little looking and I'd like you to tell me if it sounds right. The Elky is a 67 with no apparent rust or glass. It has 77k apparent miles and it runs great. It has factory air and power package. Oh yeah, the engine is a 396. NADA and kelley have it priced between 10K-15K. sound right? Just wondering about value.

SECOND- Do you (or anyone else) have a manual that will help me decipher my cowl tag / VIN? I posted to the VIN/RPO forum with no reply. I can re-post it here if necessary. I have really tried to do my homework on this one, but there are just a few codes I can't decipher. I think the car is supposed to be gold and possibly have either a gold or black vinyl top. Not sure about this one and could use the help.

THIRD- Since the car was made before unleaded fuel, do I need to run a lead additive? It was suggested to me by another classic car owner, but I'd like to hear it from the experts.

Thanks for the help,

Mark Bortnem

I just received a reply about my Cowl Tag. Two codes I have were simply referred to as "Paint codes", but I have also have others refer to them as descriptions of the bench seat and the vinyl top. The codes are B90 and C08. Thanks for the help.

Alchemist-

Thanks! I really appreciate it. I'd really like to bring her out once in a while.

Any ideas about the questions I left above?

Thanks for the help.
