Just wanted to see how many of us from up here found this site.
I just acquired two '79 Caminos :-D , and will prolly have extra parts when I'm finished, I also may be in need of a few minor things. Definitely need a windshield, but buying that new. I'm interested in a canopy as well, though I've heard a rumor of one that used to be nice, 'n I might be able to pick it up cheap.
Already checked out Maddening's posts. (Howdy neighbor!) I'm actually out a ways from you though - Houston.
This looks like a great site to be a part of, if a little confusing at first. Glad I found my way here!

Morning Kimberly. Congrats on the rescuing those Elkys. Glad you found the best site on the 'net regarding El Camino's. Welcome to ECC/ NECOA. Lots of good information and advice. Post some pictures of your rides, we always like seeing the restoration progress in pictures.

I set up a web page that has several pix of the first of the two, and started a photo album that has one picture of her, but I'm still trying to figure this site out, hope they are visible. Let me know if I did something wrong, I'm kinda stumbling around right now
The second one won't be delivered until sometime next week, emissions stuff is being pulled before I get her. Can't wait to get serious with this project!
Thanks for the welcoming!!!

Hello. Your doing very good. You must have created the ID on the web space manager. When I go to the URL, it says you created the web space and go ahead to upload some pictures. Go ahead and upload some pictures to your web site, or if you have uploaded pictures to your album, what I do, is go to the album (like http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album199&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php), and then highlight the complete address in your Internet Explorer address line and send that to people to look at.

What da ya think? Did I confuse things?

I am clear on how to get my album url now, but the thing is I have loaded pictures into both the album and the web page. When I go in through my account (web manager) they are there. I have the link to my car photos and one to art I've done, and both work fine, I don't know what I need to do to get them to show up. ??? :? ???
The album showed up when my boyfriend went in to check it out it's on page 22, and I guess now it shows up under lineofbirds instead of untitled. so I guess that one is ok for now. Thanks for taking the time to help me out!

Yep, I can see the picture on page 22 of fifth gens. Looks like you got a little bit of a project going. :) I may not be able to help with the web space part, but keep trying. I post pictures in the albums, but the only thing I use the web space for is a redirection to my own ISP's web space that I get with my account. So, I'm not to much help to you there.

Best of luck with the rebuild. You'll find plenty of help and opinions here.

Thanks!, I'm kinda partial to the avatar myself;)
I did a bit more researching, read a few tutorials and decided I will probably do better creating the website in HTML. I'll have a bit more control it seems. already have a basic layout pretty much worked up. will finish it asap.
as for the real project...
Yeah, its gonna take some work, but getting two 'Caminos for free? had to take it on. I have the resources to get 'er done, and reliable helpers as well. The second vehicle is reported to have nearly, if not all the parts I need to complete one runner. Can't wait til it gets here next week! it has the engine, tranny, interior and I already have a hood. I was told it is only missing the front quarter panels, and the some of the emissions stuff. We have no emissions testing requirements out here in the sticks, so that helps a little too. Besides, I just couldn't let them go to the crushers!

Good luck. I just gave away a 79 elcamino. It was the parts car for my 81 and I didnt need any more of the parts. A 16yr old in my club was unwilling to buy any car other than an elky so I just gave him mine.
