Just had to share this with you!

I also belong to a design and concept site. There is an artist there called PlumCrazy that has fantastic talent. Here is what I asked for...

Hey guys, I know we love to debate here retro vs new designs, but I would love to see a concept drawing or rendering of my '70 El Camino for a 2006 model. Love to see GM make a come back with one. I'm not talking about the Holden design that they sell across the big pond. Something new but still that retro look that is so popular right now with Ford and Chrysler.

Here is what Plum came up with on his lunch hour! 8O! I LOVE THIS!

Now that is what I call a great looking El Camino. I'd buy that, as long as I can also keep my '73. Would love to own two El Camino's with a 33 year difference in age. How cool would that be?

It looks like an Impala got a truck bed attatched to the back. Not that that is at all a bad thing.

Very nice. That dude has talent to spare. Looks tough and retro without trying to come off as a cheap knock-off.

That thing looks like its haulin *** just standin' still!!!

And I like almost everything, except to me it needs a longer bed....kind of hard to distinguish that it should be a 'pickup' if you didnt know it....

but looks good so far.

Kind of looks to me like a new Mustang GT front with a pick-up bed! Looks awesome, but who would want a Chevrolet El Camino looking like a Ford? Especially a Mustang! I personally love the Holden UTE SS (Australian "El Camino") I want to ship one to the states! Anyway, that is a very talented artist, and I would love to see a "new" El Camino at a GM dealership!

FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!

Here's what should happen!!!!!!!!

Have PlumCrazy copywrite it (that's pretty cheap) and then send it to General Motors.

If he gets a response, let us know and all 3,000 plus members can send an email with the pic attached asking for the car to be built.

Suppliers tend to respond to market demand.

Get it?????

I would buy one, if the wife allows.

My vote goes for the Holden ute, a proven platform.

Yea man that would be a riteous ride! I LOVE the way it looks. The wheel base stretched like that and the widening rear fenders. The hood platform looks great too. I'd have to sell some tail and probably do some nasty lookin ladies to get the dough to buy it, but it would be worth it,,,,, well if they had all their teeth and their rearend wasn't TOO big! LMAO

Definitely resembles a late model F**d product (which is not in and of itself a bad thing) but can't see a linkage to current GM styling. Remember the El Camino is supposed to be half-car (and look just like a production sedanin the front end) and half-truck. In this regard, the pickup bed is way too small and falls into the same error as the SSR that Chevy screwed up.

But, the concept is great...the styling is really sharp...and I'd buy one in a heartbeat if it was on the market at a price between a Monte Carlo and the cheapest SUV-type vehicle. Give this friend some more encouragement!

Yep, it's all been said. needs more bed, maybe square up the front just a hair. great wheels and even the side mirrors are hot. roof looks already chopped and there is curves in all the right places. This guy's good. you guys should do a couple for every gen and then we can tell the General to get on it

Does anyone remember the el camino concept vehicle that was at one of the trade shows? Someone had a picture of it on their website and it was blue and called the De-something El Camino. Thats the one I like
