hello, i'm a longtime car collector who has alot of cars including a few rare chevy' s. i recently stumbled across what i think is a pretty rare find. 1969 ss 396 el camino l-78 version. loaded with options. can i start out by getting ss396 el camino production total for 69? . ( my boyce ss book leaves out any prodution #'s for el co's). then how about 4 spd(can't tell what trans as for some reason no letter listed after muncie build date- side note: does muncie have no 20,21,22 ident letter because it's a early built car?10c body build date. sept 18 muncie build date ) l-78? then how about 4 spd l-78 bucket seat. then console, tach & guages, posi, vinyl top, electric windows after that maybe someone can direct me to a source for individual option production. and i'm sure you can't figure out how many cars built when your talking about all options combined. with my experience i would say when you combine all of those options on a l-78 el co. it has to be one of a few! any help appreciated.thx

Evening Chuck. Great questions. I may be able to help a little with a few of the questions.
Total '69 El Camino with the Super Sport option was 9717 units. Breaking down the L-78 option was 835 with manual trans (all models of manual trans) and 165 Automatic's.

I don't have any production breakdowns for specific options. I got my data from Dan Carr's poster totals (http://www.designscomputed.com/auto_pub/a_body_68_72.html). He is probably one of the most knowledgeable people on '68 - '72 El Camino's. If his charts don't break it down, I doubt anybody has the info.

Hope it helps and welcome to ECC / NECOA. Lets see some pictures of your ride.
