Ok I'm new to this forum so if some one has aready posted about this I'm sorry.

Having said that, I recently purchased an 83 el camino "ss" at the price I paied I wasn't worried if it was a true ss or not, so here is my question, other than the build sheet or the dealer invoice how can i check? The exterior has the correct trim, minus the decales it was repainted once, and the interior has been thourghly molested.

also I was wondering if any one can decode my cowel tag, it reads:

D 03E 1GW80 R 131947

60N 11L 15N 11UL

AM6

22 3162

If something doesn't seem right here I may have made an error, cause I'll admit I'm not perfect, but I believe that is accurate.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks

Use the ECC Search (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=search) function to look up Z15. There is a lot of good reading about finding out if your "SS" is real.

Well guys, I ordered the build sheet for my El Camino, and it is a true ss. I was excited as a school girl when I found that out. All the options listed there were correct for it. With the exception of the interior color, it is truely origonal. So now i just need to decide if I want to keep it origonal and restore the interior back to stock, or start customizing it. Thanks for you help again.
