From what I understand the guys that owned my 79 Elky before me heated the rear springs to drop it. So the back right side of me car when I hit a dip scraps the tire. This bothers me sooooo tremendously. I bought some airshocks to try tto fix this, and it helps , but only if no one is in the car with me! Im looking for some shortend springs that will fix this but allow for the good looking stance, Any suggestions on the cheapest ones...
Thanks all...

How much lower is the car sitting than normal ones? I'm not sure about aftermarket lowering springs but some others on this site have dicussed using them along with airbags inside the springs also. Some have used stock springs and airbags. The thing about the 5th gen springs is that they are coiled tight at the top and bottom so cutting them is not an option, that's why the other dude probably heated them.

I have lowering springs with air lift bags in them like war pony described -- works great. Got the springs from the guys who always advertise on the back cover of Chevy High Performance mag, and air lift kit from Jeg's

I went to the salvage yard and got some rear springs out of a 93 Camaro.
These springs are only pigtailed on one end so they can be cut to lower your Elky and they fit the Elkys just fine. You will need to get the spring isolators from the same car. They are just a round rubber donut thing that goes on top of the spring next to the body.
I cut one coil from the Camaro springs and it lowered my Elky about an inch and a half to two inches.
Total cost? Ten bucks!
