:? While taking a trip to Richmond,Va a few weeks ago I was horrified while on I-95 that at 80 mph I had less than 10 lbs of oil pressure. But after connecting with a road obstruction (pothole) it came back up to near 40 psi. I've had a few instances where the tach will bounce around from 0 to 3000 at highway speeds and a rap on the cluster settles it down. I know that a good cleaning and adjusting of the connections is in order . Should I put dielectric grease on these connections? Will it do any good or am I waisting my time. Thanks to all. 8-)

I had a similar problem with mine, when upgrading my cluster. Check connectors on male end and spread them outward with a screw driver. Dielectric grease is great, but lightly wipe with WD40 first. Good luck

Same thing with my gage cluster--flaky gage indications. After trying a few other things, I finally cleaned the contacts on the wire harness connector at the back of the gage cluster and cured it.

My approach was to clean both the connector and printed circuit connections with scotchbrite, did not use dielectric grease. Gages have worked fine for nearly a year now.
