Sure you'll get that power! Then blow it up turning it 9000 rpm. about 1 horse per CI is safe and reliable. You could put a weiand 142, 144 without haveing to rebuild your engine for the increased Induction force. It would run you about $800 for a used intake and charger, you might get 80-120 HP extra.
If you want over 400 reliable horses, spend $1000 and build up a BigBlock. Then you have 400-500+ torque below 5000 rpm.
I'm currentl looking for an injected 502. They get a good 500-600 HP below 2000 rpm.

Hey, sounds like a good idea to me! I bought my Weiand at a swap meet used for $700. I put it on myself last summer when I was 15. The shops wanted $500-$800 to install it and I thought that was rediculous so I did it myself. It's a lot easier than they make it out to be.
I think you could get 400hp+ from a supercharged 350 easy. Plus, if you want more power, just get a new pulley with more underdrive so you get more boost. I'm going to get one soon.
I think there is a little more info on installation in comments on the very bottm-right pic of the engine in my member gallery. You can click the link in my sig. if you want.
I hope you go for it and make sure you get nice rear end gears too (I have 3.73s with my 4 speed OD)

I didn't rebuild my block although it is relatively new and it's been doing fine. No small block will do 9000 rpms that I know of  and you should be ok if the boost isn't TOO high. What I like about supercharging as opposed to turbos is the extra power comes in low, you don't have to wait for a turbo to spool up. And $1000 for a big block 8O, WHERE???? I'd love to have a 502 or 572 personally, but 1) I don't have the money and 2) I'd like to live past my 17th birthday

You won't find a 5-- BB for under a 1000 but a 402, 454. I'm also not talking a crate motor.
I'm Saying that the 8-71 superchargers may put too much stress on a tired SB. as long as he's not pushing more than ~20 lbs. of boost. A small super won't be a big stress though.
9000 rpm is what a friend get's his at when he's really pullin'; but he doesn't do it often. he get's about 420 hp out of his 350 w/ vortech heads.

I know you weren't talkin' crate engines there, that's just what I wanted. 20lbs is a lot! I think the Weiands only put out betwwen 6 and 8 lbs from the factory. Lately it seems like I'll be think of something and the way I write it makes it come out sarcastic or something :-( . Maybe I need to use more "emoticons" :-D

Same Here. It's easy to come off catty.
If you do put on a supercharger be shure to have a true dual non-cat exhuast and possibly headers instead of the manifold that's probably on there.

Pulling 400+hp out of a 350 isn't hard. Use a new ZZ4 short block from Chevy, install the Chevy Hot Cam roller cam with some 1.6 roller rockers, a set of Dart 215 cc runner aluminum heads, a single plane manifold, 650cfm carb, MSD ignition, and a good set of full length headers, this will run on pump gas. Putting a supercharger on an engine using cast pistons, rods and crank is building a bomb that is just waiting for someone to light the fuse. 8O
